Nuvacore reportedly seeks funding at about a $2.5 billion valuation
Nuvacore is raising hundreds of millions of dollars at a roughly $2.5 billion valuation to develop a data-centre CPU, Reuters reported, citing two people familiar with the fundraising. The round has not closed, and its size and valuation could change. The company declined to comment. The San Jose startup, founded by Gerard Williams, John Bruno and Ram Srinivasan, previously announced seed backing led by Sequoia Capital. It has not yet released a product. Its own website describes WarpCore and a Core First design approach focused on sustained data-centre and AI workloads, with performance, power and silicon area considered together. Reuters describes the approach as developing core functionality before choosing an instruction-set architecture. These are development plans, not independently verified performance results or shipping silicon. The Economic Times carried the Reuters report on 11 October; the original Reuters coverage was published on 9 October.
