Opinion: Axiado puts AI power control in the hardware management plane

Axiado founder and CEO Gopi Sirineni argues that AI infrastructure is increasingly constrained by wasted power and thermal management rather than chip supply alone. In the interview, he describes hardware-rooted controllers that monitor components and respond locally instead of waiting for a central management system. Axiado's Platform Efficiency Controller is built on its TCU silicon. Company materials describe agents that adjust voltage, frequency and cooling using real-time telemetry, with an intended management fabric extending from individual systems to racks and fleets. The company claims 10% to 30% more useful tokens per dollar on demonstrated production-class platforms; that is not an independently reproduced benchmark or a guaranteed improvement for every workload. The interview is technical commentary around September's AI Infra Summit, not a new October commercial launch. Axiado's underlying demonstration announcement is dated 14 September. Practical deployment still depends on system integration, operating conditions and evidence that efficiency gains hold without reducing workload performance or reliability.
