Genrobotics wins ISRO project for satellite reflector deployment mechanism

Genrobotics Innovations says it has secured a project from ISRO's U R Rao Satellite Centre to develop a high-precision multi-link articulated boom arm for satellite applications, according to a PTI report in The Economic Times. The indigenous mechanism is intended to deploy and point reflectors and payload instruments on satellite decks, while tolerating launch loads and space thermal and vacuum conditions. This is a development contract, not a flight-qualified or already deployed satellite product. The company is extending engineering work from hazardous-environment, rehabilitation and industrial robotics into space mechanisms. The report does not disclose contract value, mission assignment, delivery schedule or qualification results. The source image depicts ground robotics, not the contracted space boom arm.
