Kodama raises $7 million to bring supervised autonomy to forestry machines
Kodama Systems has raised $7 million to bring physical AI to forestry, The Robot Report writes. Konvoy Ventures and Breakwater Ventures co-led the round, with Blue Forest Asset Management, NYA Ventures, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Congruent Ventures, Dangerous Ventures, M1C and others taking part, bringing total funding to $14 million. The company says the money will support commercial deployments, deepen OEM partnerships and extend its supervised autonomy for complex off-road environments. Kodama's technology is already in commercial logging across the southeastern U.S., and the company says machines using it have moved more than 100,000 tons of timber over six months. It began with wildfire-risk reduction in the western U.S. and now focuses on plantation timber operations.
