SEALSQ plans VaultIC 409 post-quantum secure-element samples for 2027
SEALSQ has unveiled VaultIC 409, a secure element built on its QS7001 platform. It is designed to combine a hardware root of trust, dedicated cryptographic acceleration and an SPI interface to handle the larger keys, signatures and certificates required by post-quantum cryptography. The company says the design supports ML-KEM key establishment and ML-DSA digital signatures alongside classical RSA and elliptic-curve mechanisms. The goal is a hybrid migration path for smart meters, industrial gateways and connected devices without replacing their whole security architecture. Support for standards does not itself prove a product is certified or deployed. A TLS 1.3 demonstration is planned for Electronica on 10-13 November 2026; engineering samples are targeted for Q2 2027. The underlying QS7001 platform is still undergoing Common Criteria EAL5+ certification. Neither current sample availability nor completed certification is established by the checked sources. The accompanying official company logo is a brand asset, not a photo of a shipping VaultIC 409 chip.
