LinkedIn profile ↗India / Direct investor

First institutional capital for engineering-led Indian startups.
Operator-led investor from pre-seed to pre-Series A, with capital reserved for follow-ons.
Connect Now01 / The fund
Seafund backs India-domiciled companies at pre-seed, seed and pre-Series A. The current manager page states a typical first investment of $300K-$750K and up to $2M set aside for successful startups, not a $2M standard first cheque. Its focus includes defensible intellectual property in semiconductors, AI, cybersecurity, space, biotechnology, robotics, medtech, electric mobility and alternative fuels.
Fund I is a Category I AIF (IN/AIF1/16-17/0263); Fund II is a Category II VC fund (IN/AIF2/22-23/1122), both managed by Salamander Advisors LLP. Fund II’s INR 250 crore figure is a target, not a verified final close. June 2025 reporting said about half had been raised; the 2023 first close was INR 30 crore. Earlier INR 200 crore plus INR 50 crore greenshoe descriptions refer to the same fundraising target structure. No newer verified final close was found.
The visible manager grid has 24 companies, including three marked exits. A dated 2023 financing announcement adds EVhicle separately. Another 15 identities are GP investments, five are prior Intel Capital investments, and five additional logos occur only in a hidden legacy template. These histories are not relabeled as 25 or 50 current Seafund holdings.
Official mandate ↗ · Fundraising report, June 2025 ↗02 / Portfolio
50 published relationships, with vehicle and history labels preserved: 24 visible portfolio identities, one separately reported 2023 investment, 15 GP investments, five prior Intel Capital investments and five hidden-template GP-history logos. Old duplicated grids are deduplicated. A logo in a hidden template is weaker attribution than a current visible holding.
