Bold technology, from seed to scale.
Backing ambitious founders in software, AI, health, energy and frontier engineering, with hands-on help to build companies.
Connect Now01 / The fund
Khosla Ventures backs technology-led businesses across consumer, enterprise, financial technology, frontier engineering, sustainability and healthcare. Its seed strategy asks founders to explain the science or business-model breakthrough, what has been proven, which risks remain, and what the next financing will do to reduce those risks.
The firm has separate seed, main venture and opportunity strategies. A New Jersey public-pension diligence memo dated April 24, 2025 describes equity cheques of $1M-$30M across the proposed Seed G, IX and Opportunity III suite. This is a dated LP-document range, not a newly confirmed 2026 firm-wide first-cheque promise. The memo distinguishes very early science projects, larger venture rounds and expansion-stage follow-ons. The official current seed page does not quote a numeric ticket.
Bloomberg’s July 23, 2026 report describes talks for up to $5.5B across a new suite: about $1B seed, $2B venture and $2.5B opportunity. The figures could change; this is a reported fundraising target, not capital already closed. An August 2026 University of Houston agenda names the next suite as X, Seed H and Opportunity IV while proposing an allocation. Its existing IX, Seed G and Opportunity III investments are listed separately.
Fund sizes in older 2025 fundraising articles and diligence documents describe different dates and vehicles. They are not added to the 2026 target or presented as a new final close. Venture assistance includes recruiting, engineering, strategy and company-building support, not a guarantee of an investment or a customer contract.

Nicole Fraenkel remains included despite capital-formation duties because her current official biography explicitly names investments she led. Nessan Bermingham has a supported biotech investment remit; Uri Greenwald’s biography explicitly includes investment due diligence and company incubation. Both retain their operating-partner titles. Trent Riggs is Chief of Staff, not promoted to investor just because the site groups him with investors. Engineering support, advisory-only operators, EIR, general counsel, CFO, platform, talent, marketing and investor-relations-only staff are excluded.

The official non-RFP register lists $18.75M Seed G, $27.75M IX and $28.5M Opportunity III, with contracts finalised July 3, 2025. These are commitments, not paid-in capital.
Investor source ↗Existing LP; newer allocation proposed
An August 2026 agenda states the endowment already invests in IX, Seed G and Opportunity III. A separate proposed $12M allocation to X, Seed H and Opportunity IV is a recommendation, not treated here as executed.
Investor source ↗Existing relationship; 2025 suite proposed
The April 2025 diligence memo identifies KV as an existing manager and proposes up to $100M across Seed G, IX and Opportunity III. The recommendation alone is not represented as a completed new commitment.

August 2025 reporting describes an approved $40M commitment to IX and earlier allocations to VII and VIII. Approval is not proof of cash paid into the fund.
