01 / The fund

Indian engineering talent, global markets

Golden Sparrow is a US-domiciled fund backing Indian-origin founders in India and its diaspora. Its official thesis focuses on deep tech and enterprise AI, with initial cheques of $400K-$1M at pre-seed and seed. Technical diligence, product support and the India-US corridor are part of the offering, not guarantees of follow-on finance or customer contracts.

Fund I is an $8M, 2023-vintage vehicle that the firm says is fully deployed across 18 companies. Fund II targets $20M and held its first close in January 2026. The October 1, 2026 newsletter says Fund II has raised over $13M and deployed about $2.1M through four investments across three companies. The $20M target is not a $20M completed first close. These are the manager’s dated statements, not an independent audit.

The October newsletter puts new-investment interest in semiconductor design and equipment, AI infrastructure, defense electronics and autonomy, space components and biotech platforms. It names Clario in Fund II but keeps a drone-avionics company and a diagnostic-test company unnamed. No company identity is inferred from those descriptions. Self-reported return marks and top-decile language are not used as independently verified investment performance.

16 unique named cards in the official public showcase, deduplicated across desktop and mobile layouts. This is not the full 18-company Fund I history or every Fund II investment. The two unnamed Fund II companies remain unnamed. DTT sectors describe technology. Co-investor logos are not portfolio companies or fund LPs. A public listing, acquisition or an unavailable website does not prove a full fund cash exit.

The current official $400K-$1M initial-cheque thesis supersedes older Fund I ranges still present in personal biographies.

Limited partners

Two named personal LPs explicitly identified by the fund. The October newsletter reports 62 Fund I and 55 Fund II LPs; these vehicle counts are not added into a unique-person total. Institutional LPs are mentioned as a category but none are named with enough public proof here. Portfolio co-investors, customers and employers do not become LPs.

His official fund biography explicitly says he is an LP in Golden Sparrow. His Operating Partner role alone would not establish that relationship. No amount, Fund II commitment or institutional employer investment is inferred.
