01 / The fund

Manufacturing conviction, with fundraising figures kept distinct

Capital-A backs early-stage Indian manufacturing, deep-tech and climate companies, including hardware and other businesses that need patient capital. Its current site gives a cheque range of INR 5-12 crore, approximately $0.5M-$1.5M, and prefers being the first institutional investor while remaining open to co-leading or co-investing. The team brings founder and industrial operating experience alongside investment work.

April 2026 reporting records a Fund II first close of INR 160 crore against an INR 300 crore base target plus an INR 100 crore greenshoe. The current manager site describes a $50M Fund II now deploying. These are different statements, not evidence that a $50M final close has occurred. VCCircle separately reports 50% commitments against the INR 400 crore target; commitments are not silently converted into a larger closed amount.

The current site lists Category II AIF registration IN/AIF2/24-25/1686. The published portfolio spans Fund I and Fund II and also retains older software, financial-services and consumer investments. Earlier fund size, deployed capital and the present cheque range are not interchangeable. Vehicle labels below follow the manager except where specific conflicting reporting is disclosed.

Battery engineering, thermal materials, solar heat, biopolymers and clean-hydrogen processes are Energy & Materials. Cognitive-health assessments are BioTech.
