01 / The fund

Research-led companies, backed early

BYT Capital invests in science-led companies developing defensible technology and intellectual property. Its Fund 1 thesis covers space, synthetic biology, climate technology, robotics, computing infrastructure and other frontier technologies, from pre-seed to Series A.

The current official FAQ gives a typical investment range of $150,000-$1.2 million, depending on the round. Dated reporting gives different ranges: the December 2025 launch described INR3-6 crore initial cheques, while an August 2026 BusinessLine interview described INR2-3 crore initial cheques and follow-ons up to INR14-15 crore. These are not silently combined or converted into a new guaranteed range. The FAQ is the primary published range here; founders should confirm the current mandate directly.

December 2025 launch coverage described an INR180 crore fund, including an INR80 crore greenshoe, more than half subscribed, with a final close expected by Q3 2026. An August 2026 interview reported a $20 million Fund I raised. These differently dated and denominated statements are attributed as reported, not converted into an independently verified final close or current unallocated capital.

The current official portfolio lists Octobotics, Peptris and VyomIC. Separately, the manager calls Fund 0.0 its partners' earlier personal-investment history and names 11 examples from a stated 30+ journey. Those examples are shown separately below. They are not counted as Fund 1 holdings or presented as a complete personal portfolio.

Limited partners

No named LP relationship was sufficiently verified in this check. Dated launch coverage describes domestic high-net-worth individuals, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices, but does not provide a named roster. Amit Chand's own earlier role as an LP in other funds is not evidence that those funds invest in BYT.

Named LPs not verified

Public information gap

This does not mean BYT has no LPs. Partner personal holdings, portfolio co-investors and professional relationships are not treated as fund commitments.
