Indian chip firms look to Japan and Europe as home demand stays thin

India's early semiconductor movers are chasing clients abroad as domestic demand stays weak, Mint reports. At least three companies, including Tata Electronics, see global clients as central to commercial revenue from this fiscal year. Kaynes Semicon signed a deal with Japan's Mitsui in December, cleared in March, under which Mitsui supports sales of Kaynes-made products. Tata Electronics signed Nexperia in September as a key customer for its Jagiroad, Assam OSAT plant. CG Semi began commercial chip supplies to Japan's Renesas in June; Renesas also holds a 6.8% stake in CG Semi.
