India's IG Defence and Oman-based MSA Global have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore co-development and local production of defence systems for Oman and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council region. The agreement was exchanged in Muscat at the India-Oman Defence Industry Seminar, and was announced in an October 29 company statement reported by PTI. It is exploratory: no firm order, factory commitment or deployment was confirmed. The companies will assess three platforms: KAL, a one-way attack drone with a company-stated range of up to 1,000 kilometres; BAJ, an unmanned interceptor intended to counter hostile drones; and JWALA, a micro-missile system under development for counter-drone use. Counter-drone systems detect or stop unwanted unmanned aircraft. The proposed work concerns feasibility and localisation, not proof that all three systems are deployed in Oman. IG Defence founder and CEO Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya and MSA Global chairman Col M. S. Atwal (Retd.) exchanged the MoU. The seminar was organised by India's Department of Defence Production with FICCI, with Indian and Omani defence representatives present. The partnership would combine Indian engineering with potential Omani manufacturing for regional requirements.
