Bedrock Robotics raises $600 million to scale self-driving construction equipment

Bedrock Robotics has raised a $600 million Series C at a $4.1 billion post-money valuation, co-led by CapitalG and Emergence Capital. New investors US Innovative Technology Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners and Temasek joined existing backers including 8VC, Georgian, Valor Equity Partners, Xora, Eclipse, Perry Creek Capital and NVIDIA. The October 26 announcement takes the San Francisco company's total funding to nearly $1 billion. Founded in 2024, Bedrock builds sensor, computing and software kits that retrofit existing heavy equipment for autonomous operation, starting with excavators. It says fully autonomous excavators began performing paid work on live construction sites in August, moving beyond supervised tests. Customers include Haydon, with deployments expanding into the Midwest and South Atlantic. Coordinating mixed fleets and adding other machine types remain part of the company's roadmap. The money will support more commercial deployments and the field, customer-support and operational teams needed to keep machines working on site. Bedrock raised over $270 million in a February Series B co-led by CapitalG and Valor Atreides AI Fund. Its founders include CEO Boris Sofman and CTO Kevin Peterson, both veterans of autonomous-vehicle development at Waymo.
