Enact Intelligence raises $30 million to give robots a sense of touch
Zurich startup Enact Intelligence has come out of stealth with a €26.68 million ($30 million) pre-seed round, one of Europe's largest at that stage, EU-Startups reports. Institutional investors redalpine, Notion Capital and firstminute capital joined angels Arthur Mensch, Yann LeCun and Path Robotics founder Andrew Lonsberry. Founded in March 2026 by Manuel Yves Galliker, previously software lead for 1X's humanoid NEO and later at Physical Intelligence, Enact builds robots that capture force data directly from bespoke actuators rather than relying on vision alone or point force sensors. The twelve-person team draws on DeepMind, 1X, Amazon Robotics, Helsing and ETH Zurich. Former redalpine investor Philip Kneis joins to lead growth. The money goes to growing the team fivefold by the end of 2027, hardware and R&D, and rollouts with industrial partners in manufacturing, infrastructure, retail and food processing.
