EIB and Deutsche Bank aim to mobilise €560 million for European space companies

The European Investment Bank and Deutsche Bank have agreed a partnership intended to back €560 million of investment across Europe’s space industry. Announced on October 29, it will support businesses from component makers and launch developers to satellite manufacturers and in-orbit service providers. The structure gives Deutsche Bank long-term funding and flexible financing options for commercially viable space companies. Around half the investment is expected in Germany, with the rest elsewhere in the European Union. Target technologies include reusable launchers, advanced propulsion, satellite manufacturing and Earth observation. The partnership is part of Space TechEU, an EIB programme intended to mobilise an estimated €1.4 billion with commercial banks. ESA contributes market and technical expertise. The €560 million is an investment-mobilisation target under a financing partnership, not a single startup’s completed equity round or money already disbursed to named companies.
